Naturopathy And Yoga

Yoga, if combined with Naturopathy, is another important healing science - also drugless and natural, but misunderstood and misinterpreted in certain aspects b some people. By itself, it generally cannot cure most of the diseases which Naturopathy can, but its role is equally useful in combination with Naturopathy and vice versa in fact, Naturopathy and Yoga are like two wheels of a cart and if both are practiced together, it can give wonderful results.


Yoga is a complete science of life and although ancient one, has become popular only in the recent past. Is a scientific method for exercising and relaxing to ease the tensions and stresses of modern day living.

Yoga Asanas

There are many forms of Yoga. However, here we are concerned with physical exercises only.


Yogic kriyas  like Kunjal, shankprakshalan, Neti, Dhauti, Kapal Bhati and Nauli are processes of purification of the body which precede Yoga and help in eliminating toxic accumulations from the body.

 

Asanas are certain body postures which greatly improve the blood circulation, tone up the blood vessels and mainly work on endocrine glands and the nervous system which are inter-related with other systems. Asanas also help remove accumulated toxins and metabolic wastes from the body.
Pranayama increases absorption of oxygen and activates the vital organs of the system. It also cleans the entire respiratory system making respiration smooth and effortless.

 

Yoganidra or Chittashuddhi is a yogic tranquillizer which helps achieve a healthy life throughout and even at old age.

Naturopathy Healing

But, Naturopathy heals or cures the body, while Yoga maintains thereafter. The two, in combination, enable one achieve a healthy life throughout and even at old age.


But, unfortunately, the advocates of one are generally averse to the other. Naturopaths do accept Yoga in some areas (though not in full spirit), while Yogis are generally adamant considering Yoga as “the be-all and end-all”, which is a misconception. It is however, advisable to follow and ha equal faith in both to get long-term benefits.
